General Manager, Intel Sports
James Carwana is General Manager of Intel Sports. He leads the mission to pioneer the digitization of sports by driving the next wave of powerful technologies that will allow fans to experience the game in a more personal and immersive way.
Since the formation of Intel Sports in 2016, Carwana has helped lead the acquisition of VOKE (now Intel True VR), launch multiple partnerships and deploy technology across many major sports including NFL, La Liga, MLB, NBA, NCAA Final Four, PGA, and Intel’s recent announcement as a worldwide partner of the Olympics through 2024.
Previously, Carwana advanced through the Intel Accelerated Leadership Program, working rotations in the Mobile Communications Group, Team Google and Software Defined Networks. Most recently, Carwana served as technical assistant and strategic program manager to Intel CEO Brian Krzanich. Prior to joining Intel, Carwana began his career as a principal engineer at Newport Media. Carwana holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, a Master of Science in electrical engineering–embedded computing systems, and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles. Carwana lives in San Jose with his wife, Holly, and their two young children, Addison and Reed.
